The Tularosa Basin lies between the Sacramento, San Andres and Oscura mountain ranges in south central New Mexico, on the southern tip of the Colorado Plateau and the northern edge of the Chihuahuan Desert. Major attractions include the mountain communities of Cloudcroft, Carrizozo, and Ruidoso, and such natural wonders as White Sands National Monument and the Lincoln National Forest.
